How my Student Led Conference affected my Education....
My experience with the Student Led Conferences created a great opportunity for me to look at my own work, and not only describe and present it to my parents and teachers, but to myself also. This Student Led Conference really created a good focus on my class work, and what I needed to work harder on. All in all, my experience with the Student Led Conferences led me to motivate myself for the better, and that's what is most important. With motivation, and the understanding on what needs to be worked on, I can come away with direction that I know will help me personally succeed with my education.
Organizing for the SLC's, I had the basic organization but the Student Lead Conferences really helped me clean up and find the faults in my organization process. When I was prepared, with my notecards organized, and my topics and points clear, my confidence grew. This was especially vital for my SLC.
My progress throughout all of my classes is very important to me. As a student I have high expectations for myself and what I present. I believe presenting yourself with quality work and substantial grades is very important. I definitely get excited when I get a good grade and always love to show my parents what I've done and how proud I am. It's a great feeling to be successful and feel confident about your work, and that's what I'm partly all about.
Ownership comes with pride, I believe. I must admit that when it comes to class work I can be extremely harsh with myself. In this perspective, even though I do not always pride my work, I feel an extreme ownership to it, and it makes me want to work harder and harder. With homework, as all students would agree, it's hard to find the motivation to do it. As far as education itself goes, I feel in complete ownership of it, this is one of the reasons why I love Animas High School. They set the bar high and expect you to reach it, instead of possibly setting it high, and not really being concerned in the long run on how you do. So when it comes to reaching that bar, and having that sense of pride that you're taking hold of your education, in feels great. Like I said before, I am proud of my ownership to my education.
